The Nokia N97 Mini started to ship last week and the first lucky owners should be getting used to this latest incarnation of the Nokia N97. We're waiting to get our hands on the Nokia N97 Mini with it's 3.2-inch touchscreen, updated firmware and full QWERTY keyboard delivering everything the Nokia N97 gave us but in a slightly smaller package. What's more, you'll also find GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built-in. As with all Nokia smartphones, you'll find built-in support for Ovi Store straight from the off, so you download hundreds of apps.

Launched last week and seeping out in to stores this week, the thing we've noticed is that it's only the Cherry Black Nokia N97 Mini that is out there – even though the media pics show the Nokia N97 Mini in Black and White also. All three smartphones pack in the same features but there is something about being able to choose your own colour that makes the device truly yours.

It seems that Nokia will be using the colour variants to offer a little exclusivity and variety into the marketplace. For instance, MobilePhonesDirect is claiming that it has the rights to be the first to ship with the Nokia N97 Mini White version. However, they won't be able to fulfil any orders until the middle of November at the earliest. We've not been able to find any dealer offering the straight Nokia N97 Mini Black version, so if you've seen one out and about, let us know.

So, the question is, which version do you like best – the Nokia N97 Mini White or the Nokia N97 Mini Black and will you be waiting to get a hold of the colour of your choice or are you happy to go Cherry Black?
