I guess it must be cherry black although it's pretty darned close to black - nothing like the photos you have. The face is black, but the metal edging has a slight red-brown tint to it. Anyway, the thing is an absolute marvel (I had mixed feelings before I got it, but it won me over pretty quick) and I'm glad I didn't wait for a different colour! I got an N97 mini on Monday.
