Maps Booster is a drop-in replacement for GPS that uses SkyHook Wireless' patented location system. SkyHook works out your location relative to local wifi hotspots (it has a huge database of hotspots in most urban areas) and can give a much more accurate sense of where you are. We have never been entirely convinced of the need for a virus scanner on our mobile, but it is at least possible to write some malware which - assuming you can convince someone to install it - could damage your phone's data or even lock your handset. F-Secure will keep your mobile free of any theoretical viruses or malware but, even if you aren't too worried about that it also offers you protection from more tangible baddies.
