It looks like we were right and Rihanna is set to launch the Nokia X6 as part of an exclusive gig in London on the the 16th November. What's more, she'll be playing tracks from her as-yet-unreleased 'Rated R' album, along with hit single 'Russian Roullette' via a globally streamed live performance. We knew something big was going to happen when we happened across the Rihanna/Nokia X6 webpage but it seems to be bigger than we imagined. The website invites you to sign up to be in with a chance of being a member of 1000 lucky winners to watch the gig live.
However, for those who don't win, you'll still be able to watch the gig because if you sign up to take part, you'll be able to watch the live video stream - something of this scale has never been attempted before and puts Nokia and Rihanna at the cutting-edge of tech-change.
Once signed up you can invite friends to watch simultaneously through Facebook and Twitter and there is even a countdown widget letting you know how long there is until this ground-breaking even takes place. In addition, Nokia will offer of an exclusive version of the new Rated R album via Nokia Music Store, as well as a companion Rihanna application with exclusive footage and other links on Ovi Store.
Nokia's main blog, Nokia Conversations, has even confirmed that the Rihanna live event will be used to coincide with the launch of the Nokia X6 smartphone that will become globally available on the 16th November. No official pricing has been announced but we're expecting it to be around £400 (SIM free). It comes with a 3.2-inch touchscreen that sits in a true widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio. What’s more, the Nokia X6 also packs in a whopping 32GB of storage, so you’ll be able to carry your entire music collection around with you.
