Nokia N79 firmware V31.002 update released

The Nokia N79 has received a minor software update today which will take it from v30.019 to V31.002. While there has been no official changelog published by Nokia as yet, the Nokia N79 does have UDP (User Data Preservation), which means none of your settings or data should be affected by the update - although, it is always a good idea to back-up just in case.

The Nokia N79 has a built in OTA (Over-The-Air) feature which means you’ll be able to access the v30.002 update directly from your device. Alternatively, you can get hold of it from Nokia’s Software Updater application on your Windows PC.

Because the update has only just been released it might not be available to all users immediately, so if you cannot access it then its probably due to it not reaching your region product code just yet, or that your device may be carrier branded. However, do not distress, it will eventually roll out to all product codes.

As we said, there has been no official changelog published by Nokia as yet. However, Nokia has confirmed an improvement in the copying of contacts from the SIM on the N79 - yeah, that's what thought too...

Nevertheless, if you’ve got hold of the v30.002 update, tell us if you’ve found any additional benefits in the Comments below.
