Top Five Free Nokia E72 Apps The Nokia E72 has landed and looks like being every bit as amazing as the Nokia E71 messenger that it's been designed to replace. We may still get the same 2.4-inch screen but the Nokia E72 is slimmer, the QWERTY keyboard has been refined and made even neater. Overall, it's a cracking little device and best of all, you can add some amzing apps to make it the best device around. Find out which apps are the Top Five free Nokia E72 apps of all time...

The Nokia E72 is a QWERTY messenger with 5-Megapixel camera and full super-fast 3G connectivity. It's essentially a fine-tuned upgrade of the Nokia E71, so uses the same Symbian S60 3rd Edition version of the operating system. While it comes with all the messaging and functionality the average user will ever need, you can add a whole host of apps from the Nokia Ovi Store. Here we look at the Top Five free apps for the Nokia E72.

DOWNLOAD: Nokia Maps 3.1

Every S60 phone needs the latest version of Nokia’s winning mapping software. This latest version has graduated out of Beta earlier this year and now even comes with Good Things, so you can add you favourite locations and things to do. This latest version of Nokia Maps also packs in 3D maps you can scroll and rotate through so getting around has never been easier.

DOWNLOAD: Fring

Fring is one of the more feature rich apps for the Nokia E72 as it allows you to stay in touch with friends using your Nokia’s internet connection. It’ll allow you to integrate other apps, like Twitter, Facebook, Google Talk, and even Last.fm and view them all from the same interface.

DOWNLOAD: Nimbuzz Mobile

Nimbuzz Mobile lets you call, chat, message, and send files on the go, for free. It combines everything from your other accounts, such asSkype, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, AIM and Google Talk. The advantage is that you only need one account, so one login and you can manage all your others with a click.

DOWNLOAD: Mobbler

Until Spotify finally makes it onto Symbian, Mobbler is the king of online music streaming. Mobbler is a Last.fm radio player and scrobbler for S60 smartphones, making it the perfect choice for anyone with a Nokia E71. It allows you to listen to your Last.fm radio stations and to scrobble tracks played using the S60 Music Player.

DOWNLOAD: Joiku Light

JoikuSpot Light is a free edition of JoikuSpot that transforms your mobile phone into a 3G Wi-Fi Hotspot. At first that may sound a little odd but if you're trying to work in a Wi-Fi free zone then you'll see the benefits of this app. You can connect your laptop or other device to the internet anywhere and everywhere using your mobile phone. This means you can get 3G speed rates when connected to a hotspot instead of relying on the built-in speed of your phones connection.

Thanks for the App suggestions :D

The E72 is the best Nokia mobile phone I have ever tried, tested and owned.

Its premium materials, along with the beautifully crisp display accompanied by a truly awesome QWERTY keypad make this truly desirable. The S60 Symbian, although somewhat samey, offers fantastic back compatability and is far and away the most versatile OS – popular with developers, I just hope people try this phone out before going Blackberry.

This phone is brilliant, don’t be fooled by touch screen keyboards – if you want a phone which is easy to use, has a 600Hz chipset (very fast for any phone, let alone S60) and an easy to use and intuitive keyboard then you have to have a real buttoned one – for which the E72 is a masterpiece.

    Thankyou.

    Regards,

I’m a big fan of the e-series. And I think I will try the e72. Nokia have gone really quiet recently about the next generation. Anyone out there know when the next bunch of e-series could be announced?

The Nokia E72 is absolutely the best phone I’ve ever owned. Windows Mobile nearly destroyed my faith in smartphones but wow, the E72 has got all the smart features in an easy-to-use interface. Simply brilliant.
As for the apps though, I’m struggling to find a good resource for high-quality free apps. Anybody have an idea?

I decided to move from the BlackBerry Bold and purchased the Nokia E72-2 as my enterprise device and being a previous Symbian UIQ user prior to the BB (Sony Ericcson P990i); the Symbian S60 3rd Ed product is much much better at handling Enterprise activities, although I decided to upgrade the email client to the Lonely Cat Profmail client everything is top quality and the setup was just too easy. Call quality is crisp and clear and over the air downloading on AT&T is just as smooth as the BB but a little quicker. The Desktop client for nokia is just as polished. In my opinioin the Nokia E72-2 is a much better phone for the enterprise user.
