shazamShazam, the world’s favourite music discovery tool, has been updated, revamped, and is now available on the Ovi Store. So, now it’s even easier for Nokia users to find out about the music they love, straight from their devices. In addition, the updated music discovery application has a host of new and engaging features, and is available on all Symbian S60v3.2 and v5 models, such as the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia N97 and Nokia E72. Nokia announced this week that is is pre-loading Shazam onto the following handsets: the Nokia 5630 XpressMusic and Nokia X6. The new Shazam platform allows Nokia users to send tags as Tweets to people, Facebook, and a whole host of other social networking sites.

Additionally, users can now preview tracks in the Nokia Store before they actually purchase them. Once purchased the track is then sent directly to their device - it, literally, couldn’t be simpler.

Shazam also enables users to preview tracks on YouTube, learn more about the artists by reading dedicated reviews, biographies and songs lyrics. And if that’s not enough, you can also personalise your Tags with photos, which are added to the Nokia photo album.

“We are pleased to be extending our relationship with Shazam via this enhanced application available on the Ovi Store by Nokia and as a preload on our devices.  Users will be able to take music discovery to the next level by tagging a song they are listening to, and be able to download it immediately through the Nokia Music Store,” said Marco Argenti, VP of Media & Games.

There are over 8 million songs in the Shazam database, and new users will be granted a 30 day free trail of the application, after this users cane either chose to stay with the limited Shazam, or upgrade to the full application for the one-off fee of £2.99
