Nokia E75: Build Quality review Nokia’s E-Series has been receiving quite a bit of press lately with the release of its new business-oriented smartphone, the Nokia E72. Nevertheless, a new firmware update is now available for the Nokia E75, the E72’s sibling handset, which takes it up to version 201.12.01. Read on after the jump for more details.

As firmware updates go, the v201.12.01 is quite a significant one weighing in at a hefty 153MB.

Sometimes, as we’re all well aware, firmware updates merely tweak a few things, and sort out some minor bugs, and while this may be important, it’s hardly very exciting.

Fortunately, the Nokia E75 firmware update v201.12.01 isn’t one of these updates, as it features a whole host of cool additions, tweaks, and overall performance modifications.

For starters you will get integrated Ovi Contacts, new shortcuts in the Applications folder for Facebook, YouTube, and Myspace, calender speed and synchronization improvements, and also updated clients for N-Gage, Share Online, and Nokia Messaging.

In addition to to this, the v201.12.01 updates also brings a new updated browser (next-gen v7.1), which is significantly faster, an improved UI experience, and also an updated version of Quickoffice, which takes it up to v5.3 and includes Office 2007 support -- v6 is also available for free within the Quickoffice Application.

i got the update a while ago.. but it didn’t change the phone that much, nor did the browser get any faster…
I downloaded the update OverTheAir directly to my phone. it was an 8MB file, not 153MB…
    Maybe that’s why..
This morning, i saw a pop-up, in which it says: new update available..
trying to download it.. but it just won’t work.. its around 500KB..
