facebookAs you’ve probably guessed from our coverage of Nokia’s beta labs, they’re a busy bunch over there and always have something on the go and push what is possible with Nokia handsets. And this week is no different as we see the release of the second beta version of Nokia Messaging for Social Networks. Read on after the jump for more details.

The second beta version of Nokia Messaging for Social Networks brings with it a whole host of new features that build on the capabilities of the first beta version. For example, the first beta version allowed users to update their Facebook status from Nokia Messaging, as well as keep on top of their newsfeed.

However, the second beta version of Nokia Messaging for Social Networks picks up where the first left off and grants users the ability to follow Twitter feeds from their home screen, post their Tweets, follow links, and even reply to Tweets.

As we said, the second beta has Facebook news feeds sorted. However, the new version of Nokia Messaging for Social Networks affords the user the ability to call a Facebook friend from within the client, which is pretty handy!

Another helpful addition to the service is the way you can now combine your Facebook and phone calenders, so the two sync-up in perfect harmony - you’ll never miss a birthday or important event again.

The new version of Nokia Messaging for Social Networks is currently available for the Nokia N97, N97 Mini and the 5800. So, if you have one of these devices, get over to Nokia Beta Labs and download it now! Also, feel free to tell us all about your experiences in the comments below.
