Spotify comes to Symbian The Spotify app for Symbian phones is still very much a new release, but its makers have just released an update, adding support for more mobile phone models and squashing several bugs.

The initial release of the Spotify for Symbian app had a few issues, and some of these are addressed in the update. Now, for instance, you can use the dual keyboards on non-touch phones. Offline tracks should also stop disappearing.

The update also fixes the issue concerning building playlists on touchscreen phones, and adds support for special Norwegian and French characters.

The new phones now supported are the Nokia E72, Nokia N82, Nokia 6110 Navigator, Nokia 6210 Navigator, Nokia 6290 and Nokia N79.

You can download the new edition of the app by pointing your phone's browser at m.spotify.com.

For those unfamiliar with it, Spotify is a app that allows you to legally stream music to your phone and home computer. There's almost no delay, a vast selection of music to choose from and you can build your own custom playlists in seconds. The mobile version is also capable of caching, allowing you to store tracks up at home via Wi-Fi before going out and listening to them on your phone – very handy if you don't have an unlimited 3G data plan.
