Both the Nokia E52 and the E55 come from the same gene pool, with both devices picking up from where the infinitely successful Nokia E51 left off. One of the aspects we really appreciated about both the devices was the classic design, both take the classic Nokia chassis and add enough flair and design quirks to make them stand out as something a little special -- without being overtly “flash”.

The E55 features an aluminum edging, and solid black plastic front. Conversely, the E52 has a more overall aluminum finish - both of which, however, really look the part. And if you’re after a device with traditional good looks and overall functionality you’d be hard pressed to find two better candidates.

Both devices use a Symbian S60 3rd Edition OSs, which makes browsing menus and running applications on them a pleasure. In addition, both devices have full out-of-office Documents support, so you can view documents, PDFs, Power Points, and Excel docs while on the move.

As we said, the two devices are remarkably similar, both feature the same 2.4-inch displays, and both have remarkably crisp resolutions. During testing we found the displays, although not as big as soon devices, worked admirably, displaying webpages, documents, and images in brilliant detail and colour.

Additionally, both the Nokia E52 and the Nokia E55 are seriously well connected devices featuring, HSDPA up to 10.2Mbits, HSUPA up to 2Mbits, WLAN (IEEE 802.11b/g), and EGPRS, as well as full support for practically every major email provider, so you’ll always be able to keep abreast of those all important emails, where ever you are.

Overall, the Nokia E52 and the E55 carry on the torch of the E-Series admirably well, taking all the elements we loved about previous generation models, such as the E51, and taking them to entirely new levels through the addition of new features, applications, and user intuitive controls.
