The Nokia N900’s screen won’t display what you actually see on your TV, which is a shame, but it does promise to come in handy if you find yourself short of a controller.
You’ll need a copy of BlueMaemo Bluetooth emulator – software which effectively tricks your PS3 into thinking that your Nokia N900 is a wireless controller – but other than that there are no changes necessary.
We’ve seen a video of the Nokia N900 in use, thanks to Geek, and it’s impressive, if a bit pointless at present. The biggest problem is that it can’t be used to control games at present – just the PS3’s menu. That said, it’s perfect if you use your PS3 for Blu-ray movie playback – and want to be able to control it without getting up.
You’ll be able to get the BlueMaemo Bluetooth emulator for your Nokia N900 from Maemo Central, along with full instructions on how to set it up.
