Details of the first new Nokia handset of 2010 – the Nokia Mystic – have appeared on the internet, and it could be the perfect affordable companion for the Nokia E72. With a QWERTY keypad and similar design cues, it could also be ideally suited to corporate users. Is it the genuine article though? Read on after the jump..
Don’t get your hopes up too much, as the Nokia Mystic may actually be a fake, with rumours and photographs of the handset appearing on Vietnamese website iTech.vn. It wouldn’t be the first time this has happened, with the Nokia N920 a perfect example.
If rumours are to be believed, the Nokia Mystic will slot into Nokia’s E-series range, although where it would sit in relation to the Nokia E72 is hard to say. You’ll find a similar QWERTY keypad, although with oversized buttons below the screen the styling doesn’t look quite so impressive.
iTech.vn reports that the Nokia Mystic will run the Symbian S60 3rd edition, as with the majority of Nokia’s current handsets, but that’s pretty much it in terms of specifications at this point.
The Nokia E72 already offers users a QWERTY keypad in a highly portable package, along with Office software support and a surprisingly capacious 16GB of storage space, so the Nokia Mystic will have to be good if it’s to beat its sibling in terms of features. It could offer a potentially cheaper entry to the range, however.
With no official word from Nokia, only time will tell whether the Nokia Mystic is a genuine handset or a fake. We think the photos look pretty convincing, but what do you think?
