Nokia has ushered in the first week of the new decade with a number of pretty amazing announcements. Not only has Nokia seen huge growth in the take up of Mobile Internet users, it's also been recognised by GreenPeace for its environmental work. Find out what has been going on as we take a look around with the Nokia News Watch...
The start of the new year has been quiet for Nokia, with only a clutch of news stories appearing. No doubt, we'll start to see more potential leaks and rumours emerging as we get closer to the Mobile World Congress show in February. However, that doesn't mean Nokia has been quiet, hitting targets for Ovi Store and Mobile Internet use are just the start.
What's more, it's also been the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) out in Las Vegas, and Nokia has a booth there, which is well worth checking out. Here are the top stories from the world of Nokia for this week.
Nokia may not be announcing any new devices at CES this year but that doesn't mean the company doesn't have a large floor presence. The guys over at Nokia Conversations, the official Nokia blog, have spent some time on the stand, checking it out and generally allowing those of us unlucky to see it for ourselves to see what we're missing.
GreenPeace choice the CES show to take a look at how well the large tech companies are doing with environmental issues and among those leading the clean-up crew is Nokia. Sure, they're not alone but with initiatives like Nokia Green Explorer and Planet UnPlug, and that's without thinking of thjngs like Nokia Eco Charger and the Nokia N79 Eco - Nokia has clearly has green issues at the top of the agenda.
