The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic has had Playlist DJ v1.0.37 and Shazam v2.2 added to the Software Updater for this smartphone. You can add these apps to your Nokia 5530 simply by chekcing in the SW Update of your phone. We carried out a routine update check of the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic last night, you can do this yourself by going to Applications > SW Update > Options > Start update, and two new apps, in the form of Playlist DJ v1.0.37 and Shazam v2.2 had been added.

If you've not come across these apps before, you'll find that Shazam is a great way of discovering new music. If you hear a tune on the radio, out in a bar or simply on a friend's phone you can record a snippet and the app will try and identify it for you. Shazam v2.2 now does more, as it now comes with YouTube, Twitter and Facebook integration and will even allow you to buy the track online.

The app defaults to the Applications folder. It's worth pointing out that this is a trial version and if you wish to use the service you'll need to pay for each tune you check out.

Playlist DJ doesn't appear in the Apps folder, instead it defaults to your music folder, which makes perfect sense but a little tricky to find first time out. first came bundled with the Nokia X6 and allows you to create playlists to match the mood your in. The move to Playlist DJ v1.0.37 comes with a host of library updates, smoother track listing and also a wider array of 'moods' supported. Check out our review of Playlist DJ.
