An upcoming handset from Nokia, called the Nokia Saga, has been leaked by one of the companies that make apps for the Nokia’s existing phones. There’s currently no word from Nokia on the Saga, so it looks like AccuWeather – the software on which the device appeared – slipped up. To find out more about the Nokia Saga, read on…
Details of the Nokia Saga first appeared on an advert at the bottom of the AccuWeather application. AccuWeather, which is an app for Symbian S60 5th Edition handsets - such as the Nokia N97 Mini - provides detailed weather information, but also features advertising at the bottom of the application.
It was on one of these adverts that the Nokia Saga appears, joined by the words ‘Email on your Nokia Saga’. The image of the Nokia Saga is a little on the small size, but to us it looks like a cross between the Nokia N900 and the Nokia N97 Mini – combining the latter’s compact form factor with the more traditional sliding QWERTY keypad found on the Nokia N900.
The Nokia Saga also looks set to support the Nokia Messaging Service, with the service mentioned in the advert. This also puts it firmly in line with the N97 Mini, so it’ll be interesting to see where the Nokia Saga fits in the range in relation to the similar-looking Mini.
As yet, there are no other details, but thanks to Symbian Guru for spotting the advert. Does the Nokia Saga sound like a new model to you, or simply a rebranded version of one of Nokia's existing model? Leave a comment and let us know what you think.
