Windows 7 support for Nokia Software Updater Nokia has been having a blitz on software during the past week, releasing a host of firmware updates for handsets such as the Nokia N900. There's more to come, however, as Nokia Beta Labs – the division behind upcoming software – has added Windows 7 support for the Nokia Software Updater (NSU), helping you to download the latest software on newer laptops and PCs. To find out more, read on after the break...

Aside from the support for Windows 7, changes to the Nokia Software Updater aren't that large Beta Laps has included a 'What's New' section that offers more languages than previous versions, and the USB connection has also been tweaked to offer a more stable connection.

At present, the latest version of Nokia Software Updater is only at the release candidate stage – which is why it's been released by Nokia Beta Labs and not as an official Nokia download. This means that some of the features may change slightly, or there could also be a few bugs that need ironing out – with a full release to come in a couple of weeks.

It's worth updating the updater though, as Beta Labs software also presents a chance to offer feedback, so you may have the opportunity to influence the final Nokia Software Updater release. Beta Labs is currently asking users to report and problems with USB connections, and the type of PC hardware used to run the software.

Despite registering on Beta Labs, I could not download, getting the message

“403: You are not authorized to access this page.”

Any guesses why this might be happening?
