Proporta TurboCharger 3400 Review Looking for a way to get a better battery life on your Nokia smartphone? You can opt for the battery loving Nokia E72 or Nokia E55 for your long-life needs or if you want to use something else, then opting for a portable power-pack like the Proporta TurboCharger 3400 is definitely worth the asking price. Find out how we got on with charging our Nokia with our Proporta TurboCharger 3400 Proporta TurboCharger 3400...

'Charge anything, anywhere' is the slogan on the box and while the Proporta TurboCharger 3400 will charge a whole host devices courtesy of the variety of heads it includes in the pack, we're only concerned with how well it charges our Nokia smartphones. Among the charging tips you'll find a 2mm barrel connector for your Nokia handset as well as a re-tractable USB cable, which is a neat and compact way of charging and powering devices. All this can be packed away in the supplied drawstring bag.

The Proporta TurboCharger 3400 itself consists of a 3400 MaH battery pack in a slightly rubberised housing that has a small power button on the front, along with five blue LED lights to indicate how much juice it has. Then there are two ports on the base – one a full size USB port marked 'Out' for sending a charge to your Nokia smartphone, while the smaller micro-USB is marked 'In' for topping the battery up.

What the Proporta TurboCharger 3400 allows you to do is not to worry about running out of power when out and about. For instance, one charge of the battery pack is as good as charging your Nokia smartphone four times. Suddenly, wandering around with sat-nav constantly ticking over, or never worrying about N-Gage sucking your battery dead, as you can actually be charging your battery  while using your phone.

It's not just having the extra battery capacity to hand that makes the Proporta TurboCharger 3400 an appealing option, it's that it can charger your phone a lot quicker than using the standard charger. For instance, we found it was able to charge our Nokia 5800 in a little over 40 minutes, while it takes the mains adapter an hour to give us a full charge.

You can get your hands on the Proporta TurboCharger 3400 from Proporta for £29.95 (inc. VAT). If you travel and want to make sure your Nokia smartphone doesn't run out of battery power, the Proporta TurboCharger 3400 is a great investment, especially for less than £30.
