The rumours of a new Nokia smartphone have been rumbling for days and it seems only the arrival of the Nokia X6 16GB smartphone can quell them. This latest addition to the X Series of music phones takes everything we know about the Nokia X6 32GB and strips it out to a more mainstream feature-set and price. Find out about the Nokia X6 16GB after the jump...
The Nokia X6 32GB was always intended as a high-end music phone, showcasing the best in Nokia design and Comes With Music. The arrival of the Nokia X6 16GB is aimed at the mainstream user looking to make the most of the same stunning design.
The Nokia X6 16GB is a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen smartphone running the Symbian S60 5th Edition OS and has now been made official. Nokia has halved the memory in this smartphone and also ripped out the Comes With Music support by default, making it the ideal music phone for the US market and other non-CWM territories to enjoy.
Aside from these two differences, the Nokia X6 16GB is very much the same great handset, packing in a 5-Megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, Wi-Fi and GPS. The Homescreen comes with all your social networking needs sitting pretty and you can add up to 20 contacts using the scrolling Contact bar.
It looks like the rumours were right and we'll see a pink variant of the Nokia X6 on offer, so will this ship in time for Valentine's Day?
The Nokia X6 16GB will be the first device to ship with the new Ovi Maps pre-installed, offering free walk and drive navigation as well as Michelin and Lonely Planet guides. Another touch is the inclusion of games Spore from EA, Asphalt4 and DJ Mix Tour by Gameloft.
The Nokia X6 16GB will go on sale this quarter but a price has yet to be confirmed. We'd suggest keeping an eye on Nokia Online
