Following a week of excitement, the immensely popular Ovi Maps 3.03 is now available to download for Nokia N97 users. The Nokia N97 wasn't supported when the latest version of Ovi Maps was released last week, but it's now available thanks to software update 2.0.x. This means Nokia N97 users will be able to access turn-by-turn navigation, and all the other wonderful things Ovi Maps 3.03 has to offer. To find out more, read on after the break...

We were quite surprised to see the Nokia N97 missed off the list of phones capable of running Ovi Maps 3.03 following the launch last week. After all, the Nokia 97 Mini was on the list – so why not its bigger brother? It turned out to be a storage issue, with more space needed on the C:, and a software update was all that's required.

Type *#0000# on your Nokia N97 to find out what software version you're running. You need to be running software version 2.0.x to be able to run the new Ovi Maps. If you haven't got the latest version, you need to download it using the Nokia Software Updater (NSU).

Once you've got software version 2.0.x, you'll be able to install the latest version of Ovi Maps on your Nokia N97, offering turn-by-turn navigation, verbal directions, traffic updates and a completely new menu and user interface.
