Nokia released its Q4 results yesterday and sales of the Nokia 5530 and Nokia 5800 were particularly impressive. With net sales of 12 billion Euros, and smartphone sales on the up, it puts the company in a healthy position for 2010. To find out more, read on after the jump...
The Q4 results for Nokia make positive reading for smartphone fans, with sales of devices up on the year before. Nokia CEO, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo (OPE) was keen to attribute this success to devices such as the Nokia 5530 and the Nokia 5800, stating “We grew our market share in smartphones in the fourth quarter, driven by the successful launch of new touch and QWERTY models”.
OPK went on to point out: “Our focus remains firmly on execution, especially around user experience.” Does this mean we’ll be seeing more tweaks and changes to the Symbian and Maemo 5 operating systems in upcoming devices?
With devices such as the Nokia 5800 proving so successful – selling over 8 million handsets – and driving healthy profits, it’s only fair to assume we’ll be seeing a lot more touchscreen Nokia’s in the future. If they’re as excellent as the Nokia N97 Mini, for instance, this can only be a good thing.
