We’ve long been convinced that the Nokia N900 is one of the most complete and versatile devices, but it continues to astonish us with what it’s capable of. One clever hacker has now managed to install and run a full-blown copy of Apple’s OS X operating system – is there anything this device isn't actually capable of? To find out more, read on after the jump…
The fact that the Nokia N900 is capable of running a full-blown computer operating system highlights the fact it’s closer to a PC than a smartphone, and capable of nearly anything users want to do. The operating system runs slowly on the Nokia N900, which is to be expected really, and you’re not going to be able to load up your favourite Apple applications, but as a demonstration of just how versatile the Nokia N900 is few are better.
The installation of OS X on a Nokia N900 follows on from a host of other clever and surprisingly capable installations, from 3D games like Duke Nukem to running the Google Android operating system. It just makes us wonder, is there anything this phone isn’t actually capable of?
Let us know what you think – is there anything more impressive that you’ve seen running on the Nokia N900 – or have you managed to get anything unusual on your own Nokia N900? In the meantime, check out the video below to see the Nokia N900 running Mac OS X.
