Following on from yesterday’s Firmware Update of the Nokia N900, the Nokia N97 Mini has also received an upgrade, in the form of Firmware Update 11.0.045. This latest update brings a host of changes, along with better stability and call reliability. Read on after the jump to find out more…
Offering one of the best touchscreen experiences seen so far in a Nokia smartphone, the Nokia N97 Mini is a truly excellent handset, but the release of Firmware Update 11.0.045 promises to make the user experience even better.
Firmware Update 11.0.045 is quite a large update, at 160MB, and is currently only available via your computer and the Nokia Software Updater (NSU). We’re currently in the process of downloading it for our Nokia N97 Mini, and will bring you a full update tomorrow once we’ve spotted the differences.
However, changes include more system memory when booting, improvements to the web browser (although we’re in the process of trying out the excellent Skyfire 1.5), improvements to the music media player, and better image and video stability.
Over the past month or so, our Nokia N97 Mini has run flawlessly, without any crashes or system slowdowns, so it’ll be interesting to see if the changes to stability are noticeable. We have had occasional issues with multi-tasking, however, having to shut down the odd application here and there when running several programs at once. This isn’t a hardship, but hopefully the additional memory may offer a performance boost during daily use.
