nokia-c5-04It’s only been a few weeks since images and basic details were leaked for Nokia C5 and Nokia C6 models, and although the two have yet to be confirmed by Nokia, it would appear that there are more C-series models on the way. With cheap prices and decent specs, it looks like the C-series will represent excellent value for money. To find out more, read on after the jump…

It appears that Nokia is positioning the C-series as one of its entry-level ranges, with budget models that set out to offer impressive features but regular non-touchscreen displays and older and cheaper S40 operating systems. The first handsets we’ve seen pictures of – the Nokia C5 and Nokia C6 – back this up, with traditional styling and large finger-friendly buttons.

With emphasis on regular use – such as voice and texting – rather than the latest touchscreen operating systems, it should allow Nokia to fit more impressive features in other areas.

French website Tom’s Guide has revealed details of another Nokia C-series device, in the form of the Nokia C3. Boasting S40 and a full keyboard, it also promises features such as a 5-Megapixel camera – which only a year ago was the preserve of high-end smartphones, and along with built-in GPS it should help the Nokia C3 to appeal to younger users.

With back-to-basics designs and impressive features, if Nokia can hit a sub-£100 price point for its C-series range, then it could well have a large success on its hands.

Would you be interested in buying a back-to-basics smartphone if the price is right? Hopefully we’ll find out more about the new Nokia C-series range at Mobile World Congress next week, but let us know what you think in the meantime.

Just a quick note, S40 is not on top of Symbian but Nokia OS.
