Explore And Share is an experimental set of tools being developed by Nokia that allow for fast, wireless connectivity between your smartphone and other devices. It's intended as a way for users to share data quickly but also makes perfect sense for buying and transferring music and movies to your Nokia smartphone. Find out how Explore And Share works after the jump...
Nokia Research Center in partnership with CEA-LETI has developed Explore and Share. First shown off at Nokia World 2009, a new video hosted by Jyri Hämäläinen from the Nokia Research Centre shows how the Explore And Share concept is shaping up.
In the video we see that placing your Nokia device on a reader is enough to sync the smartphone with your PC. You'll see an instant list of what's on your Nokia as well as key facts about it. More importantly, you'll also be shown the latest apps and games in line with your own user profile. These can include music, movies, Ovi Maps as well as 'possible' third-party retail services.
The real sell of Explore And Share is when you start to share content, as the video claims you can wirelessly transfer one albums worth of music to your Nokia device in less than 10 seconds. They don't explain which wireless technology they'll be running this on but it won't be 802.11n that's for sure.
It's a great looking design concept that shows us how we're likely to be syncing and sharing content with our Nokia handsets in the near future. What do you think, is this the level of connectivity you want from your smartphone? Let us know in the Comments below.
