The Nokia Mystic or Nokia C6 is a rumour that has been circulating since the start of the year. However, it seems to be one that has now reached a logical, and positive, ending, as the device has emerged on the FCC, not only as the Nokia C6 but also as the Nokia RM-612. Read on to find out more about the Nokia C6 hitting the FCC...
Before any electrical device can be released in the US it needs to go up before the the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) and be approved, which seems to be the case with the Nokia C6, which has just been filed in the US. Nokia RM-612 will be its classification number while the documentation says the handset will be launched as the Nokia C6-00.
The Nokia C Series has yet to be officially announced but according to leaked documents earlier this month, the C Series will be mainly voice-centric devices. However, the Nokia C6 clearly has messaging on mind courtesy of its full QWERTY keyboard.
Few details of what the Nokia C6 consists of have been listed but we do know it has 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, quad-band GSM, and tri-band WCDMA connectivity (900/1900/2100MHz). We can also add to this the few leaked facts we know about the Nokia C6, which would suggest this full QWERTY device runs the Symbian S60 3rd Edition OS and comes with a 5-Megapixel camera with single Flash.
The guys over at wirelessgoodness, who first spotted the document, point out that the Nokia C6 has a 'strong likeness' to the recently discontinued Palm Centro. This may well be true but you have to wonder which market segment is this device is being pitched at? Are we looking at a replacement for the Nokia E63, or a budget Nokia E72, for example?
Naturally enough, Nokia is staying quiet about launch details but what do you think, is the Nokia C6 smartphone about to get an official launch? Let us know what you think in the Comments below.
