Nokia E73 Rumours Start a Rumbling

Nokia Mystic When all is quiet on the device front what do you do? Well, start pointing at pictures and giving them new names. At least this seems to be the case with the Nokia E73 rumour that has started to rumble. Find out what the Nokia E73 rumour is all about after the jump...

The Nokia E72 has barely settled into place as the successor to the Nokia E71 and already we're starting to see rumours of its successor – the Nokia E73. What's more, the story that has started up over on tmonews – an unofficial T-Mobile blog - even goes on to suggest that it's coming to T-Mobile but won't ship until June.

Little is known about the Nokia E73 other than it has a full QWERTY keyboard, 5-Megapixel camera and is most likely going to be seen running Symbian S60 3rd Edition. There are even leaked images.

However, wait a minute! Aren't these pictures of the Nokai E73 the same as the device that has been around since the start of the year, first as the Nokia Mystic and more recently as the Nokia C6? What's more, this device hit the FCC earlier this week as the RM-612?

Now, we know this device exists but it's hardly likely to be a successor to the Nokia E72. If it does appear as an E Series device it would make some sense, as C Series devices – still not official remember – are expected to be targeted as 'voice-enabled' devices.

That said, if it's going to be an E Series device it's likely to be a more entry-level model than takes over from the likes of the Nokia E63, at least that's what we think.

So, what do you think, is this handset likely to see life as the Nokia E73, Nokia C6 or something completely different? Let us know what you think the Comments below.

Wonderful aesthetics! Still, similarly to the Nokia E72, this phone is not a compelling upgrade from the Nokia E71. Very much looking forward to what Nokia produces next.
