Not content with the huge success of Ovi Maps 3.03, with its free turn-by-turn navigation, Nokia Beta Labs has released Ovi Maps 3.04 in beta form. Offering faster and smoother performance, along with more features, it looks like making the already impressive Ovi Maps even better. To find out more about Ovi Maps 3.4, read on after the break…
We’ve already been hugely impressed by Ovi Maps 3.03, as it offers features and usability that you’ll be hard pushed to find anywhere else for free. With Ovi Maps 3.4 now appearing, it looks like getting even better, and there are a host of new features on offer.
Ovi Maps 3.4 offers improved positioning speed and accuracy, faster zooming when viewing maps, and improved search functions for cities and the ability to zoom out to city level. According to All About Symbian, compatibility for extra Nokia handsets - above devices such as the Nokia N97 Mini or Nokia 5800 - hasn’t yet been introduced, however.
At 9MB, Ovi Maps 3.4 is a big download, so you’ll have to make sure you’ve got plenty of space before installing. We’ve not yet had the opportunity to try out Ovi Maps 3.4, but All About Symbian report that it’s a big improvement on Ovi Maps 3.03, so it should be impressive. We’ll be trying it out in the next day or two, however, so keep an eye out here for a full review.
