The service has been updated with the introduction of Qik Premium, which is making its first appearance across a range of Nokia handsets and is exclusive to the Nokia Ovi Store. Qik Premium has been launched and the benefits of signing up to this new service can be seen in the improved processing of uploaded video content. Other benefits of the service include better quality playback both on HD content as well as low bandwidth connections. You'll also find unlimited storage space for your videos on Qik' servers.
As you can see from the two test shots below, the left-hand one is using the standard Qik upload service, while the higher quality image is from the Qik Premium servers, there really is a marked difference between the two services.
The Qik Premium version has an introductory price of $4.99 for a 12-month license. If you upload a great deal of video to the web, Qik Premium will certainly make a difference.
