It feels like only yesterday that the Nokia 7230 went up for pre-order over at Nokia Online and what's this turning up on our doorstep? Why it's the Nokia 7230 looking for a little attention. Join us after the break as we take a look inside the box..
The Nokia 7230 isn't a smartphone, it's very much a handset for those who simply want to stay in touch via text and voice messaging. We were surprised by how small and compact the box it came in was. You won't find any waste here, as you'll find the Nokia 7230, battery, charger, headphones and user manual in the box and that's it.
The phone itself is a slider phone with a 2.4-inch screen that has a standard 240 x 320-pixel resolution. It's nice and bright and icons are easy to read. The layout is kept quite simple, with a good-sized D-pad flanked by four function buttons.
The Go To button pulls up Messages, IM and email along with Maps your media player and even the FM radio. Meanwhile the right-hand button pulls up your Contacts. The bottom two numbers are used for call functions.
On the top of the phone you'll find a 3.5mm audio jack and a micro-USB connector. Sadly there isn't a lead in the box which perhaps shows Nokia target audience not being the type to sync the phone with the PC? Slide open the Nokia 7230 and you'll find the keypad has good sized buttons too. The buttons feel nice and have a smooth action. Messaging has proven quick.
The Nokia 7230 is a nice little phone that we're looking forward to testing out over the next few days. With a price of £129 (inc. VAT) SIM free, it's an affordable and well built phone for the chattering classes.
