We’ve been seeing more and more X-series phones from Nokia recently, with the latest rumour hinting at the Nokia X2. This would sit at the entry-level end of the X-series range, offering an affordable way of owning one of Nokia’s popular music orientated smartphones. To find out more about the X2, join us after the break…
Rumours of the Nokia X2 follow hot on the heels of the Nokia X9 concept – a stunning-looking handset that packs in the latest features. Although you can expect the Nokia X2 to be a lot more basic, as part of the X-series range it should still prove ideal for music playback.
Sitting below the Nokia X3, it’s unlikely that the Nokia X2 will feature touchscreen technology, with a slider form factor more likely. As with other X-series models, you can expect dedicated music control buttons, along with a 3.5mm headphone socket.
Ubergizmo reports that the Nokia X2 will hit the market in the near future, and features will include quad-band GSM and Bluetooth connectivity. With a relative lack of features and low-end status, it appears that Nokia is targeting emerging markets, with Ubergizmo pointing out South East Asia as the region it’s most likely to be popular in.
At present, there’s no word on pricing or a release date for the Nokia X2.
