The Nokia N900 has now received turn-by-turn voice enabled sat-nav courtesy of Sygic Mobile. This set of sat-nav tools adds even more usability to the Nokia N900 and while it's a paid for solution it also happens to be the first such sat-nav feature set for the smartphone. Find out more about turn-by-turn sat-nav coming to the Nokia N900 after the lights...
While we're still waiting for the Nokia N900 to get Ovi Maps, it seems that at least one company has seen the chance to make a quick killing by offering sat-nav services to the Nokia N900.

The guys over at intomobile have pointed out that Sygic Mobile costs 59.99 Euros and has no limit on usage after purchase. It comes with maps for both Western Europe and Eastern Europe and covers a whole hunk of land, comprising:
Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, Vatican.
The most interesting thing about the arrival of Sygic Mobile is that the maps are provided by Navteq, who just so happen to be owned by Nokia. So, while this isn't the mapping service we were expecting, you'll know what Nokia is the underlying technology making it work. We're still holding out for Ovi Maps 3.3 coming to the Nokia N900 in the coming months. However, if you can't wait then at least this paid for solution will give you a decent all-round service.
