Nokia N900 SDK Version 1.2Nokia’s flagship smartphone – the Nokia N900 – is about to get a software update with the introduction of SDK version 1.2, which brings with it a new onscreen keyboard. Along with a host of other tweaks, it should make the Nokia N900 a little bit more usable. To find out more about SDK version 1.2, join us after the break…

The Nokia N900 is one of our favourite smartphones, with the ability to do more than almost any of its rivals thanks to the Open Source Maemo 5 operating system. The latest update – SDK version 1.2 looks to make the Nokia N900 more usable, with several tweaks made to the software.

The most noticeable change is to the software keyboard, which should make it easier to text and enter text without having to slide open the Nokia N900’s hardware keyboard.

SDK version 1.2 also makes it possible to turn screen rotation on and off in the browser, according to Phonesreview, with an updated rendering engine to speed up the system and keep things as smooth as possible.

At present, there’s no word on when SDK version 1.2 will be available for download for your Nokia N900, but keep an eye out here and we’ll let you know when it makes an appearance.
