The Nokia Beta Labs guys have done there work well and have finished off the experimental app, Here and Now, which takes location based information from the GPS in your Nokia smartphone and throws up content – movies, restaurants etc – happening in that location. Find out about Here And Now hitting the Ovi Store after the jump...
Location based services like Here And Now are the future of social interaction, as you'll be able to hit a new part of town and immediately be able to pull information about what's happening in the area from your Nokia smartphone.
According to a post over on Nokia Beta Labs, Here And Now has gone through a pretty gruelling rebuild, with the main changes being centred around the user interface, which is now browser based. What's more, it seems the previews, while liked, have been rained in as the web-based app no longer needs them.
At the moment you won't find Here And Now working on all Nokia handsets, with all the touchscreen S60 5th Edition, bar the larger screen of the Nokia N97, you'll find the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia 5230, Nokia 5235, Nokia X6 and Nokia N97 Mini covered.
Non-touchscreen handsets covered include: Nokia 6710 Navigator, Nokia E52, Nokia E55, Nokia E72.
Nokia Here and Now is free and can be downloaded from the Nokia Ovi Store.
