Nokia looks set to make a big impact in the burgeoning mobile browser market with the acquisition of 100 per cent stock of Novarra. Novarra is a company based in the US that current has more than 100 staff, who this morning will be waking up to find they have new owners, in the form of Nokia. The browser company will be fully owned by Nokia and will be developing solutions solely for Nokia's range of handsets.
It's expected the first full web browser from the buy-out will be seen later this year. No details on the platform choice right but as Novarra currently delivers a browser for Series 40 devices, this may well be where the safe money it bet.
No details on how much has been paid for the firm have been made public at this time.
