The Nokia Ovi Store has had something of an update this morning, making using the site on your handset and your laptop a whole lot easier. We’ve been checking it out and there are a few changes that make it a smoother experience. Read on to find out about the Nokia Ovi Store update.
Ovi Store is a changing. At one time, whenever you logged on you’d have to choose your Nokia handset, verify the device with your phone number and only browse for content with that device. However, that has all changed, as you can now search the site for apps, only then needing to choose which handset you want to use it with. Even then you don’t need to verify the device is actually yours.
Obviously, if you want to download an app you still need to log in. However, this approach makes the whole process a lot slicker and easier to find apps. This would seem to be amongst other changes, such as the review star system moving from three stars to five stars, giving reviewers a greater flexibility in choice. Reviews now also indicate which device the reviewer used, making it easier to help with your choice.
The guys over at All About Symbian have reported that a new version of Ovi Store (Version 1.06) is being offered to most handsets. We’ve not seen this on our Nokia 5800 or Nokia X6 smartphones as yet but the update should bring with it a number of changes.
