The Nokia 5230 takes its styling and its swagger from the hugely successful Nokia 5800, while the Nokia X6 is a whole new kind of beast, with a slightly more angular look that could well be Nokia's best looking design yet. The Nokia X6 and Nokia 5230 may on the surface look like quite different creatures. However, they both use the same Symbian S60 5th Edition OS and both have their design roots in the Nokia 5800. So, let's check out where they differ.

Screen: On paper, the displays on the Nokia 5230 and the Nokia X6 16GB both look similar, with 3.2-inch panels featuring a pin-sharp 640 x 360 pixel resolution. The Nokia X6 16GB steals a march on its rival, though, as it uses the newer capacitive technology. That said, you can use the screen on the Nokia 5230 with a pair of gloves on – as it responds to pressure rather than touch.
Processor: When it comes to processing power, you’ll find that the Nokia X6 shares the same processor as the Nokia 5230 (and the Nokia N97 and Nokia N97 mini for that matter). This is the ARM 11 CPU, which has a clock speed of 434MHz, so we can expect apps to load as quickly and smoothly as they do on current generation of devices.
Memory: If the Nokia 5230 has one major flaw, then it would be the lack of internal memory, at it comes with just 70MB - you can always add 16GB of storage space using the microSD slot, though. The Nokia X6 doesn't come with that option but with 16GB (or even 32GB) already packed in you don't really need to.
Camera: The Nokia 5230 shows its entry-level roots with a usable 2-Megapixel CCD. We’ve found it a great camera for most occasions. However it can't compete with the 5-Megapixel snapper in the Nokia X6 16GB with its Carl Zeiss optics and autofocus, along with a dual-LED flash.
