The Nokia 5230 has pretty much taken up our whole week as we've been comparing it to the likes of the Nokia 5800, it's natural larger brother, and the Nokia X6, which sits at the high-end of the smartphone food chain. Now, it's the turn of the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, possibly the closest in price to the Nokia 5230, so let's see how they stack up.
The Nokia 5530 is very much a music phone and while it's a touchscreen in the same fashion as the Nokai 5230, it's a smaller and more compact device. Here's how the two compare:

Screen: Both devices are remarkably similar in this respect, as both the Nokia 5230 and Nokia 5530 have a resistive touchscreen with 360 x 640 pixel display. The only thing that separates them is size – the Nokia 5530 is a slightly smaller 2.9-inches compared to the 3.2-inches of the Nokia 5230.
Memory: The Nokia 5530 has 70MB of internal storage and 128MB SDRAM, as well as a card slot which can handle up to 16GB, with 4GB included. Compare this to the 70MB of internal storage on the Nokia 5230 and the same 16GB card slot but no memory card in the box, so you'll need to splash the cash for one.
Battery Life: When it comes to juice, the Nokia 5230 has the goods, as it has a significantly longer talk-time of 7 hours compared to the 5530’s 4 hours, as well as longer music playback of up to 33 hours, compared to 27 hours on the Nokia 5530. Still, both sound pretty good to us.
Camera: When it comes to cameras, unfortunately there’s only ever one device in it, and that device is the Nokia 5530, which boasts a 3.2MP, (2048 × 1536 pixel, Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, as well as LED flash. Compare this to the Nokia 5230 and its 2-Megapixel camera (1600 x 1200 pixels) and there really is no competition.
