The Nokia C6 has the makings of a great little handset. Combing features we love from devices like the Nokia N97 – such as the huge QWERTY keypad and a large touchscreen display, packing it into a cool casing and offering it at a decent price, it’s the must-have phone for those who place communication and social networking at the top of their priorities. To find out more about the Nokia C6’s specs, read on after the jump…
The Nokia C6 is a great example of technology trickling down from high-end smartphones to regular, everyday handsets that the majority of us can afford to buy. The most impressive aspect of the Nokia C6 is the 3.2-inch touchscreen – which is similar to that found on the high-end Nokia N97. With a pin-sharp 640 x 320-pixel resolution, it’s great for browsing the web, taking advantage of Ovi Maps, or even watching movie clips.
The Nokia C6, which features the Symbian S60 5th Edition operating system, is also the first C-series handset to feature a sliding QWERTY keypad, another feature that we’re more accustomed to seeing on range-topping handsets. Messaging is a key part of the Nokia C-series range, and as such you’ll find full support for web mail clients such as Yahoo! Mail and Gmail, and it’s even possible to set up Instant Messaging through the Ovi Store – with Google Talk and Windows Live Messenger letting you get the best out of that large keyboard.
Storage is an area where the Nokia C6 cuts back in order to save money. That said, although the 200MB of internal memory is a lot more limited than the 32GB found in the Nokia N97, it is possible to expand via microSD card, with up to 16GB supported.

As a mid-range solution in the C-series range, the Nokia C6 features plenty of features to keep you happy. There’s a 5-Megapixel camera that should be capable of excellent snaps, aided by autofocus and an integrated flash, and there’s also an integrated radio.
Wireless functionality comes in the form of Wi-Fi, letting you easily connect to home and office networks, and you’ll also find Bluetooth and A-GPS. The latter lets you use the Nokia C6 as a satellite navigation device, with Ovi Maps 3.03 pre-installed as standard.
The Nokia C6 will be available in the second quarter of 2010, so that means you should be able to get your hands on it soon. In the meantime, we’ll be bringing you a full review in the next couple of weeks.
