The Nokia X5 could be the latest addition to Nokia’s X-series lineup, sitting between the existing Nokia X3 and Nokia X6. With a decent blend of features, it could be the ideal device for those wanting a touchscreen smartphone at a competitive price.
Details of the Nokia X5 have been revealed on Ready2beat, and a middle-of-the-road specification should provide the perfect mix of performance, features and price. From the images we’ve seen, the front of Nokia X5 is taken up by a large touchscreen display, with no sign of hardware buttons to ruin the sleek design.
Features include a 5-Megapixel camera, and if it comes with Carl Zeiss optics – like the Nokia N97 Mini or Nokia X6 – then you can expect impressive image quality. According to Ready2beat, the camera is also capable of recording videos at 15FPS, making it a handy pocket camcorder.
The price of the Nokia X5 will be kept down by cutting the internal memory to just 170MB, although you’ll also find a microSD card reader which supports cards of up to 8GB. 3G/HSDPA offers speedy download times and web browsing, and you’ll also find Bluetooth in place.
There’s currently no word on when the Nokia X5 will be launched or how much it will cost, but will let you know when we know more.
