How To Backup Contacts on a Nokia N97 Mini
Mobile phones have changed the way we keep in touch with friends and family members, but the inclusion of digital phone books means it’s all too easy to lose all of your contacts if anything happens to your phone. This doesn’t need to be the case, however, as Nokia’s Ovi Suite makes it easier than ever to backup all your contacts from your Nokia N97 Mini. Read on to find out how to copy your contacts onto your computer…
To backup your phone contacts, the first thing to do is to ensure you’ve downloaded the latest version of Ovi Suite. Once you’ve done this, connect your Nokia N97 Mini, and click the PC Suite option.
Run the Ovi Suite application on your PC, click Next and wait for the software to recognise your Nokia N97 Mini. Once it points out: Your Device Nokia N97 Mini is now connected, click on Next, and wait for the program to search for support.
You’ll then be asked to enter a name for your device – sticking with Nokia N97 Mini is a sensible choice, especially if you intend to connect more than one Nokia to your PC.

The final step of setting up Ovi Suite is to create a Nokia Account, which involves putting in a username and password. You’ll also be asked to enter your email address, along with accepting the terms and conditions.
Once you’ve set up your Nokia Account, you’ll be able to control lots of aspects of your Nokia N97 Mini – from messaging to the music that you listen to on it. We’ll be bringing you a full guide of what Ovi Suite has to offer, and how to get the best out of it, over the next few weeks, but to backup your contacts click on the large Sync and manage your contacts icon in the top left corner.
This brings up the Contacts screen, and it couldn’t be easier to use. In the very bottom left hand corner, there’s a small icon that says Sync Contacts. Click this, and wait for your Nokia N97 Mini to sync with your PC. Along with copying all your contacts data to your PC, it’s also easy to manage and add contacts from your computer, and you’ll be able to easily add details to future Nokia handsets.
