The Nokia E72 has received a major firmware update taking it to Version v31.023 today. Weighing in at a hefty 198MB the Nokia E72 firmware update v31.023 brings with it a raft of new features as well as delivering improved stability. With the Nokia E72 firmware v31.023 update being such a big download you'll find the update is only available via Nokia Software Updater (NSU) so you won't find it hitting your download limit hard. The update fixes a bunch of minor bugs that had crept into the Nokia E72 but also rolls out a number of new features.

New features as part of the Nokia E72 firmware v31.023 update include the inclusion of Ovi Maps 3.03, that's the free turn-by-turn sat-nav turns, making it an integral part of the device. Internet Radio has been added to the Radio app, so you'll be able to stream online stations with ease.

The web browser on the Nokia E72 has also been given something of an update and you'll aldo find Ovi Sync has been added to the device, so you'll be able to sync your device with other Ovi services a whole lot easier.

Now with Firmware Update v31.023 , my E72 is pretty stable…and it never hangs or something like that. All I can say is it stable and faster compared to earlier firmware. There are still lots of scope for improvement such as 1) Making trackpad more responsive
2)when u use trackpad,mouse pointer doesnt come out of the text boxes (in browser) and you need to press four way key to comeout from the text boxes. Could you please fix this in the next firmware update?

NOw the E72 very stable. No hang ups. Please fix the following bugs. When u r in internet,and the mouse pointer is in text box, you can not come out of text box using track pad. u hv to use 4 way keys across the track pad. please make a provision to move the mouse pointer out of text box by using trackpad

Also I expect another upgrade in the next firmware. E72 gets charged everytime when connected to the PC. Will it be possible to put a enable/disable microUSB charging option in the USB settings? I regularly use my E72 as a mass storage device, mostly it would be just a matter of 2 minutes to use but the battery starts getting charged intermittently on each mass storage usage. I believe this is bad for the life of the battery as this decreases the charging -discharging cycle count of the battery. Also adding the contacts bar as in the E5 to the existing 3 home screen theme would increase the aesthetic looks of the E72, as musch as I am concerned.

Also, in the process of using mass storage option the the message memory in use wont be set back to the memory card as I always want it to be. Each time i disconnect my E72 from PC I’ll have to goto the message options to change the memory in use from phone memory to memory card. Is there a fix to this discomfort..? And, as the youth request, please get to add social networking apps to the firmware. I know E72 is a pure business device, but I wear t-shirts in my office.. Expecting a personalization option to disable the clock on the top left corner so that the landscape home screen can be utilized for more of the notification. The small clock on the bottom is more than enough actually, imho.
