That Roach Game South Africa Review If like us you find the merest creepy crawly encounter is enough to send shivers down your vertebrae, That Roach Game South Africa will help you gain revenge on the little-legged critters. This bug crushing game is one of the best free mobile games we've played this year. Put down the insecticide for a minute and read on to find out why…

On the Ovi Store you'll lots of interesting free games and apps to keep you occupied. Naturally, some are better than others. Occasionally you'll come across a gem, like That Roach Game South Africa.

Developed by Breakdesign  That Roach Game South Africa is all about squashing roaches into a squishy pulp with your fingers in cities across South Africa. This free 0.84MB bug-infested game isn't the best publicity South Africa needs ahead of hosting the FIFA World Cup this June, but as it makes for an addictive game we don't care one bit.

Right from the Flash intro sequence That Roach Game South Africa is incredibly presented throughout, with visuals to match any mobile game out there. It immediately feels like a steal (it's free, remember). One nice touch is the regular doses of trivia nuggets dispensed between levels. Did you know that crushed roaches can be applied to a stinging wound to help relieve the pain?

Hit play and you'll be able to choose from four South African cities to wreak finger havoc on unsuspecting bugs: CapeTown, Blomfontein, Kokstad and Durban. Each one offers a real-life floor settings such as toilet, kitchen, garden and bedroom floors to crush the little critters. The aim is to crush as many as you can before the timer bar at the bottom of the screen runs out.

It all sounds a little one dimensional, but it's great fun, incredibly satisfying and addictive (and other such similar adjectives). Particularly when the bugs scream out via instantly appearing captions. The controls are simple; see a bug, and crush it with your fingers or thumbs using your phone's touchscreen. It's very responsive, we had no trouble at all using a Nokia N97.

To add a competitive twist, players have the opportunity to have their top score entered onto leaderboards for the top 20 countries. If you're quick enough, you just might make it into the Top 100 Roach Killers. Look out for us. Another handy addition is the ability to send short messages to other players using the Shout! tool. It's just one of the game's many community - focussed features.

Unfortunately there's one major gripe. It doesn't have sound. That Roach Game South Africa has some of the best presentation you're likely to see from a game costing nothing. A few bug splat sounds at least would have been nice.

But don't let a lack of audio stop you downloading this to your Nok. Once you start it up, especially on a long train journey, you'll find it difficult to put down. That Roach Game South Africa should be part of every Nok touchscreen user's game library. And you can download it for free from the Ovi Store right now.

Thanks for the awesome review! The sound, yes, at the end of the day it was a difficult decision. Sweet sounds of roaches dying slowed down the gameplay too much. One plus though is that you can always listen to your own tracks on the device mp3 player in the background while playing the game – well that’s how we do it anyway!
