The Nokia N8 looks like being one of those flagship devices that developers can truly take to their heart. That’s because the Nokia N8 will be the first device from Nokia to come with the Qt developing platform integrated into the device.
Why is this a good thing? Well, it means developers will be able to develop and builds apps easily and more quickly from with the stable environment of the Nokia N8. In this way, it’ll be a whole lot easier to roll it out to other Nokia devices.
Nokia has also announced that it has made the powerful but simple to use Nokia Qt SDK available, in its initial beta, to enable developers to start realising the potential of Qt.
What can developers expect from the new Qt SDK? Well, for starters, Nokia is claiming things with be faster and easier to use. The modular Qt class library comes with GUI controls, WebKit integration, networking, database framework and more.
Then for the C++ programmers, you’ll be able to use Qt Creator, which is a cross-platform IDE that comes with its own GUI layout and forms designer, project and build management tools, debugging functions and code navigation tools.
