Nokia has been particularly busy recently, with the launch of its Nokia N8, along with the introduction of the Nokia C3 and Nokia C6. We may be about to get another addition, however, in the form of the innovatively styled Nokia C2. With a spinning screen and QWERTY keypad, images point at the Nokia C2 being an unusual handset. To find out more about the Nokia C2, join us after the break…
Although the image to the right may yet turn out to be a fake, if the Nokia C2 turns out to be a genuine Nokia device it could be a great little device for social networking and chatting to your mates.
The render of the Nokia C2 shows a centrally hinged screen, which initially sits above a relatively normal 15-key keypad. In this mode, we expect you’d be able to make calls and send text messages, with some form of predictive text in place.
However, when you want to send a longer message, or even type out an email, you’ll be able to spin the screen 90 degrees, revealing another 15 keys, and using the keypad in a full QWERTY layout. How well it works remains to be seen, but it does give the Nokia C2 a distinctive look.
It would also be in-keeping with the Nokia C-series brand, which has so far focused on social networking, and the full integration of Nokia Messaging. Other specs are few and far between, but Engadget hits at a 320 x 240-pixel screen and a 2-Megapixel camera.
Unfortunately, we don’t yet know anything else, but keep an eye out here for any future updates.
