Yes, so far i don’t see any other real competition to this phone, i’m talking about bringing new things to the table of course, go, check and compare all the phones in gsmarena.com, there’s the iphone 4G, which… well basically is the same, with just a little more power, HTC with windows mobile 7 is already unveiled, but it’s not a real strong competition because of the cheap price tag of the N8 (480 USD), there’s also the samsumg, which again, is not bringing anything new, and the LG, that clearly fails in catching up with the top smartphones, and finally, the xperia x10, with a price tag of 730 USD… well you can figure that one, plus it’s not bringing anything new really. So, yes, the N8 will probably steal everyone’s thunder this year, except if maybe nokia delivers a N9 or something (fingers crossed) :)

In terms of hardware this promises to be the undisputed king and smartphone of the year no doubt, with HD Recording and HDMI output, 12MP Xenon flash camera, and now a first for mobile phones, support for Dolby Digital Plus 5.1, I say what more could you possibly want from a phone.

However, I am wondering whether Nokia are making the same mistake here like they did with previous phones, (N97 comes to mind) which is the inclusion of every possible feature under the sun on one smartphone and failing to concentrate on providing an equally capable software and user interface which is smooth and intuitive like the competition (e.g. Android OS, Iphone OS). I jutst hope they get it right with Symbian 3 OS, although I am a little sceptical.
