Vodafone has just announced that it will have the UK exclusive on the Nokia C3, which will be available to pay as you go customers from June 2010. The network seems keen to push its PAYG mobile Internet deals towards buyers of the Nokia C3, pointing out that they can get a 30-day web pack and 250MB of data for £7.50. Vodafone reckons that means you can use your Nokia C3 to read and reply to 5,000 emails, download 12 Google Maps or read 4,000 BBC news stories. Alternatively, occasional web browsers can buy 25MB of data for 50p – enough for 100 emails or 90 news stories.
The Nokia C3 is a communication-centric entry-level phone: its full QWERTY keyboard (it’s the first S40 device to have one) makes text messaging, emailing and social networking a breeze. There’s Nokia Messaging too, accessible via a single click, and built-in Wi-Fi means you don’t need to eat through that mobile data in order to access the web – just find a hotspot and go crazy.
Also on board are a 2-megapixel camera and slot for up to 8GB of microSD storage.
Vodafone will start shipping the Nokia C3 in June, and it’ll be available in two exclusive colour finishes: slate grey and hot pink. You can register your interest over at the Vodafone Nokia C3 page.
