Ovi Music to Replace Nokia Music Is Nokia Music on the verge of getting a re-brand to become known as Ovi Music? You may be wondering why we ask, it's just that as part of the Nokia 5800 firmware v50 update Nokia Music got a new icon and a name change to Ovi Music. Read on to find out why we think Ovi Music is set to take over from Nokia Music...

Ovi Music is alive and well and on our Nokia 5800. Before the recent firmware update the music service was just like any other Nokia, called simply Music Store. Now, the icon is the same but it has received a name change to Ovi Music. The name may hav changed but it still has the same functionality. So, click on Ovi Music and you'll find yourself loading Nokia Music on your device.

What's more, it's not just the Nokia 5800 that has Ovi Music on-board. We've been playing with the Nokia C5 and it has Ovi Music on from the get-go, which would suggest it will be appearing on all future Nokia handsets too.

This isn't the first time we've seen the arrival of Ovi Music on a device, as back in March Ovi Music appeared on Ovi Suite. The move makes logical sense to use, after all Nokia is spending a great deal of time and money promoting its Ovi services, from Ovi Maps to Ovi Mail, so bringing Ovi Music inline with these makes sense.

Naturally, there has been no official word from Nokia on the subject yet. After all, this will be a big event if/when it happens. What do you think, are we about to see a name change from Nokia Music to Ovi Music some time soon, or will this be one of the announcements we can expect at Nokia World 2010, which if you remember is only a couple of months away in September.

Let us know what you think about the potential arrival of Ovi Music in the Comments below.
