Although we haven’t seen anything officially, we know the Nokia X7 is on its way, after its name appeared alongside the Nokia C7 and Nokia E7. We’ve been thinking about what this high-end device could have to offer, and thanks to your comments we now have a better idea. Join us after the break to find out more…
Following the introduction of Nokia’s new naming structure, if nothing else we know the Nokia X7 will be a mid to high end device. We also know it’ll sit above the Nokia X6, so we assume it’ll feature a capacitive touchscreen display.
What do you want to see from the Nokia X7, however? We asked you to leave some comments, and the feedback has been positive. According to reader Pav, all Nokia has to do over the existing Nokia X6 is to install Symbian ^3, provide a digital compass and a better touchscreen, and that would be enough to “seal the deal”.
Jb8967 pointed out that the N Series should remain the “Jack of All Trades, Master of All”, and made a good point about devices such as the Nokia N8 being able to generate and consume media with “best in class ease”.
Although Jb8967 doesn’t want the Nokia X7 to outperform the Nokia N8, equivalent performance to Nokia’s flagship would be a nice touch.
Hg echos this, requesting for the Nokia X7 to have a better processor and graphics card than existing handsets, and for something in line with the Nokia N8. He (or she) would also like to see a sliding QWERTY keypad – a feature that some of us here at NokNok would also love to see.
Nick would like to see a Nokia X6 chassis, but with the screen made larger, at around 3.5 inches. As with other readers, he’d also like to see Nokia install the latest Symbian ^3 operating system on the Nokia X7 – which seems a must, really.
Naturally, being slightly lower down the pecking order than the Nokia N8 means that some compromises will have to be made – with Jb8967 accepting that an 8-Megapixel camera would be acceptable – even going as far as to leave the Carl Zeiss optics primarily for the N Series.
Do you agree with these points? Is there anything else you’d like to see in the Nokia X7? Leave a comment below and let us know if so.
