Nokia Ovi Suite Version 2.2.0.241 has landed and can be downloaded now to add a little more stability to the software and to add a host of new features. The Nokia Ovi Suite is the central resource for backing up all the files, contacts and messages on your Nokia smartphone to your laptop or Windows PC. It's also the portal for updating your Nokia handset too.
Now the Ovi Suite has received a firmware update of its own taking Nokia Ovi Suite to Version 2.2.0.241. We found it was a quick download and install process and after a quick reboot of the laptop found that Ovi Suite now has an icon driven interface that mirrors the icons on your device.
You'll find all the standard icons there, for Ovi Player, Nokia Photos etc but you'll also find a new addition. SW Updates, which was formerly hidden away in the Tools menu. This icon looks the same as it does on our Nokia X6 and means you can get updates not only for your Nokia smartphone but the other tools in Ovi Suite a lot quicker.
Nokia Ovi Suite Version 2.2.0.241 also delivers a few other new features, such as easier navigation and switching between the separate panels. You'll also find that photos now open in full screen mode. The changes all feel as though Nokia has been listening to customer feedback as Nokia Ovi Suite Version 2.2.0.241 feels more like a natural evolution than a big leap forward.
